Three fans were injured after a safety fence collapsed during a Super Junior concert in Seoul on Sunday, an incident that prompted an apology from SM Entertainment, the K-pop group’s agency.
The incident unfolded during the final of three Seoul concerts held by the K-pop group at the KSPO Dome. According to the agency, as member Ryeowook approached the audience during an encore performance, fans surged forward, causing a safety barrier in the seating area to give way. This concert was part of Super Junior’s “Super Show 10” world tour, commemorating their 20th anniversary since debut.
SM Entertainment confirmed that the injured fans received immediate medical attention, being transported to a hospital where they were treated for minor sprains and bruises. Doctors recommended two weeks of rest for their full recovery.
In an official statement, SM Entertainment conveyed a profound apology: “We deeply apologize to those affected and their families. As the event organizer, we accept full responsibility and are committed to implementing rigorous safety checks to prevent any similar incidents from occurring in the future.” (Yonhap)
