K-pop producer El Capitxn officially debuted as an artist with the release of his first single, “Breaking Through,” on Thursday. This marks a significant step for the renowned producer, known for crafting hits for some of the biggest names in K-pop.

El Capitxn, formerly a member of the boy band History (debuted in 2013), rose to prominence producing hit tracks, including BTS’ “Take Two,” Agust D’s “Daechwita,” IU’s “Eight,” Jungkook’s “Stay Alive,” and Tomorrow X Together’s “Farewell, Neverland.” He is highly regarded in the K-pop industry.

With “Breaking Through,” El Capitxn steps into the spotlight as a solo artist, embarking on a new chapter in his already impressive career. The song explores the powerful moment of breaking down emotional barriers, depicting the process of suppressed feelings finally emerging and reaching another person, something many can relate to.

El Capitxn’s debut single showcases the vocal talents of Tomorrow X Together’s Taehyun and American singer-songwriter Jeremy Zucker, adding depth and emotional resonance to the song’s narrative. The track employs a unique story-building concept, where a voiceless narrator’s deepest emotions are expressed through the distinct voices of the two featured artists. El Capitxn has previously mentioned his history producing music with Taehyun, both before and after Taehyun’s debut with TXT, highlighting the special musical connection they share.

The release of “Breaking Through” signals El Capitxn’s clear intent to establish a unique artistic identity, seamlessly blending his established production expertise with his personal creative vision. Fans can expect more exciting music and projects from him in the future.

In addition to the highly anticipated music release, fans can look forward to visual content capturing the mood of the track, as well as behind-the-scenes glimpses into the creative process, all of which will be revealed sequentially in the coming weeks. Be sure to follow El Capitxn’s social media for updates.

According to El Capitxn’s production team, Vendors, he has also partnered with the US-based independent label Empire as part of his efforts to broaden his global reach as a solo artist. Founded in 2010, Empire is recognized for its work with a diverse roster of international artists and its comprehensive global distribution and marketing support, offering a strong platform for El Capitxn’s global ambitions.

Vendors further stated that this strategic partnership will involve close collaboration on all aspects of music production and global distribution, with plans to pursue a wide range of diverse projects in the future, solidifying El Capitxn’s position as a rising global artist.
