The countdown is on! Stage construction is underway at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul as anticipation builds for K-pop sensation BTS’ highly anticipated comeback live performance.
Workers were busy erecting the stage on Monday, preparing the iconic square for “BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang,” which is scheduled to take place on March 21 at 8 p.m. KST.
The excitement is palpable, with banners welcoming the group back and promoting the upcoming performance adorning buildings surrounding Gwanghwamun Square. Notices have also been posted throughout the area, informing the public about partial road closures to accommodate the concert.
BTS is set to unleash their fifth full-length album, “Arirang,” on March 20, marking their return as a complete seven-member group after fulfilling their mandatory military service last year.
Given BTS’ massive global fanbase and the open-air, free nature of the event, authorities are bracing for a massive turnout. Estimates suggest that as many as 260,000 spectators could gather at Gwanghwamun Square and its surrounding areas.
To ensure the safety and well-being of attendees, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced comprehensive safety measures. These include bypassing subway stations near Gwanghwamun, restricting access to rooftops of nearby high-rise buildings, and deploying specialized police units.
Global ARMY members who can’t make it to Seoul in person will still be able to experience the magic. The performance will be livestreamed on Netflix, bringing BTS’ comeback show to viewers around the world.
