BTS’s RM Expresses Regret Over Ankle Injury Ahead of Comeback
RM, a member of the global sensation boy group BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook), shared his thoughts and feelings about a recent injury during a live broadcast titled ‘STUDIO NOTES | ARIRANG’ on the fan platform Weverse on the 20th.
During the broadcast, RM revealed, “I was preparing for the concert with the members, and I was working particularly hard that day to prepare an amazing performance, but I unfortunately sustained an ankle injury. It’s not a serious injury. I’ll do my best to recover as much as possible before the concert. I will still go on stage and sing with passion.”
J-Hope responded, “We were all very surprised as well. But he must be even more upset than we are,” comforting RM. V also expressed his concern, saying, “Many people are looking forward to a performance with all seven of us, so I’m sure hyung [older brother] is the most disappointed.”
On the same day, their agency, Big Hit Music, announced on their official social media, “RM sustained an ankle injury during rehearsal on the 19th and was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment. The examination revealed ‘sprain of the accessory navicular bone and partial ligament rupture, and talus contusion (ligament damage and inflammation).’ Medical staff advised that he should wear a leg cast and focus on recovery, minimizing movement for at least two weeks.”
As a result, RM’s movements, including choreography, will be limited on stage. Big Hit Music stated, “Giving the highest priority to the medical staff’s opinion and to prevent further aggravation of the injury, we have made the difficult decision, together with the artist himself, to minimize RM’s movements during ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG.’ Although his performance will be limited, RM intends to participate in the performance to the fullest extent possible and connect with ARMY and the audience. As many of you have been waiting for this performance for a long time, we will do our best to show you a sincere performance.”
