Prime Minister Inspects BTS Concert Safety

editor 3월 21, 2026
Prime Minister Inspects BTS Concert Safety

With the highly anticipated concert at Gwanghwamun Square just hours away, Prime Minister Kim visited the event’s situation room at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. He received comprehensive briefings from officials representing the interior ministry, the Seoul metropolitan government, police, firefighting agencies, and Hybe, the entertainment powerhouse behind the globally recognized K-pop group BTS.

Prime Minister Kim emphasized the crucial need to ensure crowd safety around Gwanghwamun Square. He instructed officials to enhance vigilance against potential terror threats and implement integrated road traffic controls and public transport solutions to facilitate a smooth and orderly departure for attendees after the concert.

He also reminded Hybe of the significant national resources that have been allocated to support the success of this major event.

“Therefore, I believe it is vital that the company, not only during the concert but also moving forward, understands the responsibility it holds and recognizes that the entire nation and its people are supporting them, even if it means bearing some inconvenience,” he stated.

Addressing the venue itself, Prime Minister Kim expressed his hope that the concert would further highlight the importance of Gwanghwamun Square as a landmark national, historical, and democratic space.

An estimated 260,000 people are expected to converge on the area for the show, spanning from Gwanghwamun Square to Sungnye Gate, a distance of over one kilometer.

Security measures have been significantly reinforced, with a planned deployment of 15,000 safety management personnel, including approximately 6,700 police officers, to the concert site.
