Boy group BTS’s ‘SWIM’ has entered the ‘Top 5’ on the U.S. Billboard ‘Hot 100’ for three consecutive weeks.
According to a chart preview article published on the official website of U.S. music media Billboard on the 14th, BTS’s new song ‘SWIM’ ranked 5th on the main song chart ‘Hot 100’ (for the chart dated April 18). This track secured a spot in the ‘Top 5’ for the third consecutive week since reaching the top of the chart on April 4, continuing its long-term success in the global music market.
‘SWIM’ also simultaneously topped the ‘Global 200’, ‘Global (Excl. U.S.)’, and ‘Digital Song Sales’ charts for three consecutive weeks. According to Luminate, a U.S. entertainment industry data research company, ‘SWIM’ reached number one on the ‘Global 200’ (for the tracking period April 3-9) with 83.3 million streams and 44,000 download sales. The album’s b-sides also shined. ‘Body to Body’ ranked 7th on the ‘Global 200’. On the ‘Global (Excl. U.S.)’ chart, a total of four tracks secured spots in the ‘Top 10’: ‘SWIM’ at number 1, followed by ‘Body to Body’ (4th), ‘2.0’ (5th), and ‘Hooligan’ (7th), proving the album’s widespread popularity.

The album ‘ARIRANG’ maintained its No. 1 position on the main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ for three consecutive weeks, setting a record as the first and longest-running Korean artist to top the chart. This marks the first time a group album has reached number one on this chart for three consecutive weeks since 2012. Previously, ‘ARIRANG’ soared to the top of the ‘Billboard 200’ (dated April 4) with 641,000 album units, the highest performance for a group album since Billboard introduced unit tracking in December 2014. Its pure album sales (physical and digital purchases) in the first week of release were the highest among all group albums released in the past decade. SEA units (sales converted from streaming counts) also broke BTS’s previous weekly streaming records.
BTS also firmly held the top spot on Spotify’s latest weekly charts, ‘Weekly Top Albums’ and ‘Weekly Top Songs’ (for the tracking period April 3-9), for the third consecutive week. Notably, ‘SWIM’ maintained its No. 1 position on the ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart (March 20 – April 12) for 24 consecutive days, solidifying its presence as a global hit.
The influence of ‘ARIRANG’ extends beyond the U.S. to Asia, Europe, Oceania, and other regions worldwide. In Japan’s Oricon charts (dated April 13 / tracking period March 30-April 5), it ranked 2nd on both the ‘Weekly Digital Album Ranking’ and ‘Weekly Combined Album Ranking’, and 3rd on the ‘Weekly Album Ranking’. Its momentum in Europe is also strong. ‘SWIM’ reclaimed the No. 1 spot on Germany’s Official Music Charts (Offizielle Deutsche Charts) ‘Top 100 Albums’ (dated April 10), while ‘ARIRANG’ successfully secured a top-tier position for the third week, ranking 5th on the UK Official Charts (dated April 10-16) ‘Official Album Top 100’. It also ranked 2nd on France’s SNEP ‘Top Albums’ (tracking period April 3-9) and Australia’s ARIA ‘Top 50 Albums’ (dated April 13), continuing its global craze in the international music market.
BTS kicked off their ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG” at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium on April 9 and from April 11-12, meeting over 132,000 fans over three days. The tour continues, heading to Japan on April 17-18, followed by North America, Europe, South America, and other parts of Asia. On June 12-13, they will visit Busan Asiad Main Stadium for the first time in 3 years and 8 months.
