◆ “The Entire City of Seoul is a Venue”: Comeback Fever Intensifies, Strict Controls in Place
As the comeback countdown begins, the atmosphere is heating up. All members participated in writing the lyrics for the 14-song tracklist, led by ‘SWIM.’ Big Hit’s representative producer, Pdogg, along with EDM heavyweight Diplo and Grammy-winning OneRepublic member Ryan Tedder, also contributed to the album.
Diplo, who participated in the creation of five tracks – ‘Body to Body,’ ‘FYA,’ ‘One More Night,’ ‘Like Animals,’ and ‘Into the Sun’ – emphasized in an interview with TMZ that “‘ARIRANG’ is the craziest album ever and will shock the world.” He added, “I’ve been making music for 30 years, and I feel so lucky to work with such a great group, have them trust me, and make great music. BTS is so proactive and creative. It’s unbelievable.”
Member Suga also stated about ‘Arirang’ in a GQ cover story released on February 13, 2025, that “It contains various genres” and “It will be quite different from the BTS albums you’ve heard so far.” He added, “You will be able to see a more mature BTS in this album.” RM also said, “‘ARIRANG’ is an album that really has everything.”
As Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon mentioned, “We need to prepare as if the entire city of Seoul is a venue for the return of the king.” Strict controls will be in place at the event on the day of the performance, which is expected to draw up to 260,000 people.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is taking full preparedness measures in anticipation of the BTS Gwanghwamun performance, considering the unstable international situation, including the situation in the Middle East, and the possibility of terrorist attacks cannot be ruled out.
To prevent vehicle sudden acceleration or ramming accidents within the venue, traffic cones, water-filled barricades, and police buses will be deployed on major roads and side streets. To prevent the introduction of dangerous materials, metal detectors will be installed at 30 entrances on the day of the performance, and security checks will be significantly strengthened.
The maximum number of available police special forces personnel will be mobilized for pre-event safety inspections of the entire venue. A joint analysis response team will be operated to respond to bomb threat reports received on the day of the event, and a proactive response system will be established to analyze the risk level of the reported content.
On the day of the event, a monitoring team will be operated to assess crowd density, and officials from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and other related organizations will work together at 31 gates to determine when to implement crowd control measures.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated, “Entry may take a long time due to strengthened security checks, including the operation of metal detectors, so please minimize your belongings. We will thoroughly prepare by mobilizing all available personnel and equipment throughout the event.”
