BTS member Jin, accompanied by fellow members, captured significant attention during their recent visit to Mexico by attending a traditional Lucha Libre event and sharing an extraordinary encounter with a revered national hero wrestler.
On May 9th (Korean Standard Time), Jin, along with three other BTS members, journeyed to Arena México in Mexico City, widely recognized as the mecca of Lucha Libre, to immerse themselves in the excitement of traditional Mexican professional wrestling.

Mexican media outlets such as ‘DIARIO RECORD’ and ‘OTTMAG’ were quick to cover the exciting news, prominently featuring a two-shot of Jin alongside wrestling superstar Místico in their article thumbnails. Místico is celebrated as a national hero in Mexico, commanding immense popularity among Latino audiences across the Americas, solidifying his status as a true Lucha Libre icon.

During the event, Místico made a grand entrance donning a white jacket uniquely embroidered with ‘BTS’ and the names of each member, a gesture that thrilled Jin and the group. Seated in the front row, Jin, often hailed as the ‘Visual King,’ captivated local Mexican and global audiences alike with his enthusiastic and immediate reactions throughout the thrilling match. Mid-bout, Místico approached Jin in the stands, embracing him warmly. The two shared a friendly arm-in-arm moment, raised their hands in acknowledgement, and exchanged a handshake, creating an unforgettable interaction.
As the opposing wrestler aggressively pushed Místico into the audience section, launching an indiscriminate attack, Jin and the members fully engaged, expressing their disapproval with dramatic ‘thumbs down’ gestures. Conversely, they passionately cheered for Místico, offering ‘thumbs up’ in support. Following the high-octane match, Místico made his way to BTS before leaving, exchanging warm greetings. Místico, Jin, and the other BTS members shared ‘K-hearts,’ and Jin, visibly moved by Místico’s passionate performance, showed his profound appreciation by pointing to his chest and giving another enthusiastic thumbs up.

Concurrently, BTS, currently on their ‘ARIRANG’ World Tour, captivated fans with a spectacular concert at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City on May 8th (KST). Jin, celebrated for his ‘God of Beauty’ visuals and powerful ‘Live King’ vocal performance, delivered a phenomenal stage that garnered explosive cheers. The global superstars are receiving an enthusiastic, state-guest-level welcome in Mexico, with additional performances scheduled for May 10th and 11th in Mexico City.
