Global K-pop sensation BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) made a prominent appearance on the historic balcony of Mexico’s National Palace, captivating fans and drawing significant attention during their visit to Mexico City.

Ahead of their highly anticipated Mexico City concert, BTS members were officially invited by the Presidential Office, where they met with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on the 7th (local time).

Earlier that day, President Claudia Sheinbaum had announced during her ‘Mañanera’ (morning press conference) that the global K-pop group would visit the Presidential Office and greet citizens from the iconic National Palace balcony, a rare honor.

Reports indicate that BTS engaged in a cordial conversation with President Sheinbaum for approximately 40 minutes. Following their meeting, the moment BTS members stepped onto the National Palace balcony, a thunderous roar of cheers erupted from the massive crowd of Mexican fans gathered below, eager to catch a glimpse of their idols.

This historic moment was broadcast live by numerous media outlets, including Mexican news channel NMás, with prominent captions like ‘BTS Appears on National Palace Balcony,’ underscoring the immense local excitement and global interest in the group’s visit.

From the grand balcony, BTS members enthusiastically waved, blew flying kisses, and interacted with their devoted Mexican ARMY. They even captured the incredible scene of the plaza filled with fans on their phones, immortalizing the moment. Notably, members RM and V took to the microphone, greeting fans in fluent Spanish, which was met with ecstatic cheers and a wave of fan admiration.

Beyond the cultural impact, BTS’s visit to Mexico is also generating significant economic expectations. Big Hit Music, the group’s agency, reported that the Mexico City Chamber of Commerce estimated the concert series alone would generate an economic impact of approximately $107.5 million (roughly 155.7 billion Korean Won), highlighting the immense financial influence of the K-pop phenomenon.

Meanwhile, BTS is set to perform a highly anticipated three-day concert series on the 7th, 9th, and 10th at Mexico City’s prestigious Estadio GNP Seguros. All three shows were met with overwhelming demand, selling out almost instantaneously upon ticket release, further solidifying BTS’s unparalleled popularity in the region.
