Global pop sensation Katseye is set to perform at the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, this Friday, but group member Manon will not be joining them on stage. Hybe America confirmed Manon’s absence to The Korea Herald, clarifying her status for the highly anticipated debut.
Regarding her involvement, Hybe America, the entity overseeing Katseye’s promotional activities in the US, stated on Thursday, “Manon remains on hiatus.” This statement came in response to inquiries about her participation in the upcoming festival appearance.
The Swiss-born artist has been on a temporary health hiatus since February, a decision made to “focus on her health and well-being,” as detailed in a Feb. 5 statement from Hybe and Geffen Records. Katseye, a rising global pop group, was notably formed in 2024 through a landmark partnership between these two prominent entertainment companies.
As the highly anticipated Coachella festival drew closer, uncertainty mounted regarding Manon’s potential return for Katseye’s debut performance. Speculation reached a peak on April 3 when Manon updated her social media profile, removing the group’s name and fueling rumors about a possible departure from the ensemble.
Hybe has chosen not to comment on the ongoing speculation surrounding Manon’s status within the group.
In related news, Katseye is gearing up for the release of their brand new single, “Pinky Up,” set to drop this Friday at 1 a.m. KST. The group is widely expected to give “Pinky Up” its world premiere performance during their highly anticipated Coachella debut.
