Police are warning fans about potential ticketing scams surrounding BTS’ highly anticipated free comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul. Stay safe and avoid fraudulent offers!

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on Monday that they are actively monitoring online activity as reservations opened on Feb. 21, addressing concerns about unauthorized proxy bookings, inflated ticket resales, and the risk of data theft. Authorities have already requested the removal or blocking of 34 suspicious online posts related to the event.

Many of the flagged posts were offering to secure tickets on behalf of buyers in exchange for service fees. Other posts attempted to resell tickets at significantly inflated prices, ranging from 100,000 won ($69) to a staggering 1.2 million won.

Police are emphasizing that proxy booking schemes often require users to share sensitive personal information, such as account IDs and passwords, which dramatically increases the risk of identity theft and financial fraud. Protect your information!

Officials are also on high alert for other potential offenses, including cyberattacks targeting ticketing platforms and scams involving overpriced accommodations near the Gwanghwamun Square venue.

According to a notice released on Feb. 20 on the global fan platform Weverse, proxy purchases and resales are strictly prohibited, with rigorous on-site identity verification measures in place. Any online offer suggesting otherwise is highly likely to be fraudulent. Police are urging fans to exercise caution and remain vigilant against scams. #BTS #BTSComeback #Gwanghwamun #TicketingScam #PoliceWarning #Seoul #Kpop
