Global K-pop sensation Nmixx recently shared a memorable moment with Princess Anne, the younger sister of Britain’s King Charles III, at a prestigious reception. The event, celebrating the strengthening UK-Korea partnership, took place on Tuesday at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Seoul.

Hosted by the British Embassy, the exclusive gathering welcomed the Princess Royal alongside influential representatives from Korea’s defense industry, academia, cultural sectors, and political sphere. Nmixx’s attendance underscored their growing international prominence, as the popular girl group members cordially exchanged greetings with Princess Anne during the reception.

The Nmixx members presented a unified look in elegantly coordinated white-and-beige ensembles, while the British royal family member stood out in a striking blue-and-gold checked suit, reflecting the diplomatic nature of the event.

This high-profile interaction follows Nmixx’s significant appointment in June as ambassadors for the embassy’s impactful girls’ empowerment campaign, “Girls Can Dream, Girls Can Achieve.” During their appointment ceremony, group member Lily delivered an inspiring message, stating, “Girls do not need to have all the answers right now.”

Emphasizing the power of belief, Lily added, “I believe that, with faith, everything is possible,” expressing Nmixx’s profound hope that their distinctive music will resonate with and empower young women globally, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations.

This three-day official tour to Korea by the Princess Royal, accompanied by her husband, Vice Adm. Sir Timothy Laurence, marks her first visit in eight years since her attendance at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games. This significant return highlights the enduring diplomatic ties between the UK and Korea.

Reflecting on her ongoing engagement with the nation, Princess Anne shared her admiration: “Every time I visit Korea, I am impressed by how far Korea has come. I feel my knowledge expanding.” She confidently asserted that the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations is destined to grow even stronger.

British Ambassador to South Korea, Colin Crooks, further amplified the news via X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, confirming the royal’s busy schedule: “The Princess Royal met President Lee Jae Myung and Nmixx yesterday,” emphasizing the breadth of her engagements during this royal visit.

This memorable interaction with Nmixx brings to mind a similar high-profile K-pop royal encounter from 2023. On that occasion, King Charles III honored global superstars Blackpink by presenting them with honorary Members of the Order of the British Empire at the iconic Buckingham Palace in London, showcasing the global cultural impact of K-pop and its recognition by the British Monarchy.
