Winwin, a prominent member of the K-pop group NCT, is set to officially part ways with SM Entertainment and conclude all his group activities. The agency made this significant announcement on Wednesday, confirming his departure.
In a detailed statement released through the global fan community Weverse, SM Entertainment disclosed that following extensive and thorough discussions, a mutual agreement was reached with Winwin to terminate his exclusive contract. This termination is effective starting Thursday.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to Winwin, who has dedicated over 10 years to the company since his trainee days,” SM Entertainment stated. “We commit to supporting him wholeheartedly as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in his career.”
Winwin’s departure marks him as the third member to leave NCT in 2026. This follows the earlier exits of Mark and Lucas, both of whom left the group in April. Notably, Ten also concluded his contract with SM Entertainment in April but continues his activities as a member of NCT.
Winwin first debuted with the NCT sub-unit NCT 127 in 2016. He later joined WayV, the China-based unit, in 2019, primarily focusing his group endeavors there. More recently, his career has seen him concentrate on individual activities within China, including acting roles and various solo projects.
