OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is scheduled to meet with senior executives from Samsung Electronics Co. in South Korea next week. The discussions will focus on Samsung’s strategic initiatives to deeply integrate artificial intelligence across its extensive business operations, according to industry sources on Thursday.
Altman’s itinerary includes a visit to Samsung’s Suwon office, located south of Seoul, on Monday. During this visit, he is slated to deliver a key lecture exploring the transformative impact of cutting-edge AI technologies and outlining innovative strategies for fostering AI-driven workplace transformation within the global tech leader.
This significant engagement comes as the South Korean technology giant recently announced ambitious plans to fundamentally overhaul its core work processes and corporate culture. These changes involve the comprehensive incorporation of advanced AI solutions across all facets of its operations.
Altman’s upcoming trip marks his first return to South Korea in approximately eight months, following his previous high-profile visit in October of last year.
During his prior visit, the influential OpenAI chief held separate, high-level discussions with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, underscoring the growing strategic importance of AI partnerships in the region.
