Shinee Set for K-Pop Comeback with Sixth EP ‘Atmos,’ Featuring Member Key’s Return
K-Pop powerhouse Shinee is gearing up for a highly anticipated comeback with their sixth EP, “Atmos,” slated for release next month, as officially announced by SM Entertainment on Monday.
This exciting six-track collection, prominently featuring its title track, will drop on all major streaming platforms at 6 p.m. KST on June 1. Fans have eagerly awaited this Shinee comeback, which marks their first full album release since the May 2025 physical single, “Poet | Artist.”
According to statements from SM Entertainment, the “Atmos” EP is poised to showcase what the agency hails as “the most Shinee-like” music to date. This project is set to further emphasize the K-Pop group’s signature sophisticated, stylish, and distinctive sound.
While Shinee’s critically acclaimed eighth LP, “Hard,” released in 2023, explored a “new form of Shinee,” “Atmos” is anticipated to delve into the group’s “more refined and distinctive musical color,” offering a deeper exploration of their unique artistry, the agency elaborated.
Significantly, the release of “Atmos” also heralds the highly anticipated return of Shinee member Key to official group activities, following a six-month hiatus. Key had temporarily stepped back from public broadcasts and scheduled engagements in December amidst controversy involving allegations concerning an unlicensed medical practitioner.
At the time of the incident, SM Entertainment clarified that Key genuinely believed the individual in question was a licensed doctor and was not aware that receiving medical treatment at home could potentially lead to legal complications.
In anticipation of the “Atmos” album launch, Shinee is also scheduled to host their eighth stand-alone concert event, “The Trilogy I – 2026 Shinee World VIII : [The Invert],” at the prestigious Kspo Dome in Seoul Olympic Park, running from May 29 to 31.
Shinee fans can now secure their copies of “Atmos” as preorders officially commenced on Monday through a wide range of online and offline retailers.
