Rookie K-pop sensation Alpha Drive One is gearing up for a highly anticipated comeback in May, according to reports from local media on Wednesday.
WakeOne Entertainment, the group’s agency, has confirmed that Alpha Drive One is indeed preparing a new album. While the agency has acknowledged the comeback plans, they stated that the specific release date and timeline are still under discussion and are yet to be finalized.
Alpha Drive One, a rising boy band formed through a popular audition program, made their explosive debut in January with their first EP, featuring the title track “Euphoria.” The debut EP achieved phenomenal success, selling over 1.44 million copies within its first week of release. This impressive feat ranks as the second-highest first-week sales for a group’s debut album and the fourth-highest overall debut album sales in K-pop history, solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with.
Adding to their already impressive trajectory, Alpha Drive One recently held their first fan showcase in Yokohama, Japan, marking their first official event in the country. Despite not yet formally promoting in Japan, their debut album impressively climbed to the No. 3 spot on both Oricon’s Weekly Album Rankings and Weekly Combined Album Rankings, highlighting their growing popularity and strong fan base in Japan.
