The prestigious Vienna Symphony Orchestra collaborated with SM Entertainment, a leading K-pop label, for a groundbreaking K-pop concert in Vienna, Austria. The event was produced by SM Classics, an affiliate of SM Entertainment, on Thursday.
Titled “Wiener Symphoniker X K-Pop,” the concert aimed to “transport listeners acoustically to South Korea, blending the vibrant and captivating world of K-pop with the esteemed European orchestral tradition.”
The musical program featured orchestral arrangements of popular hit songs from SM Entertainment artists. These included EXO’s “Growl,” SHINee’s “Sherlock,” Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor,” aespa’s “Black Mamba,” and NCT Dream’s “Hello Future,” showcasing a diverse range of K-pop styles.
Adding to the star power, Ryeowook, a main vocalist from the iconic K-pop group Super Junior, performed his solo singles alongside the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, creating a unique and memorable experience.
The Vienna concert is a part of the SM Classic Live series, which previously held successful performances in Tokyo and Seoul last year. This concert further solidifies K-pop’s global reach and its ability to blend seamlessly with classical music.
