Bigbang member Taeyang recently captured significant attention by choosing ‘TOP’ brand coffee. This seemingly small detail has been deemed highly symbolic by fans, particularly as the iconic K-pop group approaches its highly anticipated 20th debut anniversary.
On May 12th, the YouTube channel ‘TEO’ released a new episode of its popular series ‘Salon Drip,’ titled “Oh, I Don’t Know. Bangchella Behind, New Song Behind, Meme Behind Fully Revealed.” This episode featured Taeyang as a special guest, who is currently gearing up for his solo comeback.
During his appearance, Taeyang shared insights and stories about various topics, including Bigbang’s recent performance at the Coachella music festival alongside other members, as well as details about his upcoming solo album.
What truly sparked fan discussions, however, was Taeyang’s choice of ‘TOP’ coffee as his welcome drink on ‘Salon Drip.’ While it could simply be a coincidence, many fans are interpreting this choice as a meaningful gesture, given that ‘TOP’ is also the stage name of former Bigbang member T.O.P. This has fueled speculation about a potential reunion or continued camaraderie among the members.

Adding to the buzz, G-Dragon previously gained attention for ‘liking’ T.O.P’s new song teaser image. Furthermore, the newly launched official Bigbang social media account, created to commemorate their 20th anniversary, followed T.O.P’s account. This series of events has intensified discussions and hopes for a potential four-member Bigbang comeback.
Most notably, during their recent Coachella stage for ‘Still Life (봄여름가을겨울),’ the Bigbang members prominently used the original audio track which includes T.O.P’s distinctive vocals. This specific choice captivated fans globally and was widely interpreted as a powerful demonstration of the members’ enduring bond and loyalty, significantly raising expectations for future Bigbang projects coinciding with their 20th debut anniversary.
Currently, Bigbang is actively promoting as a three-member group. However, the consistent actions from their official account and the individual members have collectively fueled various ongoing speculations regarding the direction and future of Bigbang’s group activities.
Bigbang originally debuted in 2006 as a five-member ensemble. Member T.O.P faced charges for marijuana use in 2016, resulting in a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. Following the impact of this incident, T.O.P expressed intentions to retire from the entertainment industry and subsequently left the group. He has since begun to resume his activities, notably appearing in Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Season 2, set for release in 2024, and working on his solo album titled ‘Multi-Perspective.’ Former member Seungri also departed from Bigbang due to his involvement in the Burning Sun scandal.
