BLACKPINK’s Rosé triumphantly raised a trophy at the prestigious BRIT Awards!
On February 28th (local time) in Manchester, UK, at the 46th BRIT Awards 2026, Rosé won the International Song of the Year award for her duet with Bruno Mars, “APT.”
The BRIT Awards, organized by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) since 1977, is a highly esteemed award ceremony. Nominees are selected through voting by a panel of over 1,000 individuals, including radio and TV DJs, hosts, broadcasting executives, record label representatives, and journalists. Rosé has made history as the first and only K-pop artist to be nominated for a BRIT Award both as a group member and as a solo artist. She has now added the honor of winning the award to her list of accomplishments.
Taking to the stage, Rosé shared her acceptance speech: “It’s an honor to receive such a wonderful award in front of so many talented musicians.” She added, “To Bruno Mars, my mentor and close friend, to the BLACKPINK members who always inspire me, and to TEDDY producer, I want to say I love you and thank you to everyone I am grateful for.”
“APT.”, the duet between Rosé and Bruno Mars released in October 2024, broke numerous records on music charts worldwide. At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, one of the four major American popular music awards, she became the first K-pop artist to win the coveted Song of the Year award. She was also nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards, the most prestigious award in the American popular music industry, marking the first time a K-pop artist has been nominated in these main categories. With this, Rosé has achieved success at all the top awards ceremonies in the English-speaking world, breaking down barriers and solidifying her global presence.
Furthermore, “APT.” topped the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Global Single Chart released on February 19th, continuing its streak of breaking records. The IFPI Global Single Chart analyzes popularity by quantifying music consumption and downloads for the year, showcasing the most globally popular songs. Rosé is the first K-pop artist to reach the top of this chart, and she also achieved the remarkable feat of being the first artist from outside of North America and Europe to reach number one.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, the group Rosé belongs to, released their 3rd mini album ‘DEADLINE’ and the title track ‘GO’ on February 27th, showcasing their first new music as a full group in 3 years and 5 months, igniting excitement among their global fanbase.
