Singer G.NA has officially announced her comeback to the music scene, marking her return after a decade-long hiatus following a prostitution conviction in 2016.
On the 23rd, G.NA shared a video, stating, “After tallying all the votes, it seems the first remake has been officially decided,” confirming the release of a remake of her debut song, ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live Well.’
G.NA expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you to everyone who voted, commented, and shared their memories.” She added, “I am currently working on the remake version. I’m so excited to share it with you all once it’s ready, and honestly, I’m a little overwhelmed with emotion.”
Released in 2010, the original track “I’ll Back Off So You Can Live Well” propelled G.NA to stardom, earning her a number one spot on music shows. She went on to achieve further hits with songs like ‘Black & White’ and ‘Top Girl.’
However, G.NA halted her activities in 2016 after being fined 2 million Korean Won for alleged prostitution charges overseas. At the time, G.NA’s representatives denied the allegations, stating the individual was “a Korean-American businessman she met with affection.”
Following the controversy, G.NA moved to Canada and has recently been hinting at a comeback through her social media channels, sharing updates on her life.
G.NA posted a video of herself singing in a car, stating, “Singing is one of the happiest parts of me.” She continued, “I forgot what that felt like for a long time, but little by little, music is bringing me back to myself.”
She also shared, “There’s still so much I want to say. One day, I might finally be able to share my entire story,” adding, “Until then, I will continue to sing honestly.”
G.NA concluded her message by saying, “Thank you for listening to my story and for being with me.”
Alongside the caption “2am. madness,” G.NA revealed a picture of herself humming a song with her hat on backward. Notably, a laptop next to her, where she was seen jotting notes in a notebook, displayed a screen indicating ongoing music production, drawing attention to her active return to recording.
