NewJeans member Minji has officially secured the top spot in the Star Ranking Star Idol Female Ranking, cementing her status as a leading K-pop idol.
The 238th Star Ranking Star Idol Female Ranking vote, conducted from 3:01 PM on the 14th to 3:00 PM on the 21st, saw NewJeans’ Minji emerge victorious. She impressively garnered 20,466 votes, newly claiming first place.
Following closely, Red Velvet’s Irene took second place with 14,244 votes, while NewJeans’ Haerin secured the third position with 8,677 votes. Iconic Girls’ Generation members Yuri (2,106 votes) and Yoona (1,317 votes) rounded out the top contenders.
In related news, NewJeans had previously announced a contract termination in November 2024, citing Ador’s alleged failure to fulfill its obligations. However, in October of the previous year, NewJeans faced a setback when they lost the first trial regarding the validity of their exclusive contract. Following this legal decision, members Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni subsequently returned to Ador.
Currently, Danielle has reportedly received notice of contract termination, while Minji is still in discussions regarding her return to the agency. Ador has issued a statement, clarifying, “We are continuing internal discussions concerning future activities. Negotiations are proceeding in a generally positive direction.”
