Singer Lee So-jung, formerly of the group Ladies’ Code, cheered on Choi Ga-on, who won the first Winter Olympics gold medal in Korean skiing history.
On February 13th, Lee So-jung posted a screenshot of Choi Ga-on’s gold medal-winning moment on her Instagram with the caption “The best!”
Choi Ga-on won the gold medal with 90.25 points in the women’s halfpipe final at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics ski snowboard event held at the Livigno Snowpark in Italy on the 12th (local time).
Immediately after winning, Choi Ga-on said, “I am very happy that my first Olympic medal is a gold medal. I can’t believe it,” and “I am also honored to be the first gold medal for the Korean team.”
Choi Ga-on became the first gold medalist for the Korean team at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, as well as the first gold medalist in Korean skiing at the Winter Olympics.
