Seo Youngeun, a member of the K-pop girl group Kep1er, is leaving the team after an 8-month hiatus.
On June 6th, the agency WakeOne and Klep Entertainment announced, “Seo Youngeun, who has been with Kep1er as a member since their debut in 2022, will be concluding her activities with the team. We have had in-depth conversations about her future direction for a long time, and this decision was made after careful consideration.”
They further stated, “The members also respect Seo Youngeun’s wishes based on mutual trust and are sending her their support. We are deeply grateful to Seo Youngeun for her sincerity and passion as a member of the team.”
As a result, Kep1er will be reorganized into a 6-member group consisting of Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, and Huening Bahiyyih.
Kep1er debuted as a project group through Mnet’s ‘Girls Planet 999’ in October 2021.
Kep1er was reorganized into a 7-member group in July 2024 when members Mashiro and Kang Yeseo returned to their original agencies.
Subsequently, Seo Youngeun suspended her activities in July 2025 due to health reasons.
