Dating rumors surrounding K-pop stars, including DAY6 member Dowoon, aespa member Giselle, and singer Sung Si Kyung, have recently become a hot topic. However, despite being similar dating rumors, public reactions have been starkly divided.
First, Dowoon became embroiled in dating rumors with Yoo Ji-yoo, a YouTuber who is the younger sister of influencer Yoo Hye-joo. These rumors quickly spread across online communities.
Netizens raised suspicions that the perfume and keyrings Dowoon showcased in a recent YouTube video were couple items. Furthermore, claims that a dog seen in photos posted on Dowoon’s friend’s social media belonged to Yoo Ji-yoo further fueled the dating speculation.
The rumors escalated into marriage speculation when it was reported that the two had consulted with a wedding planner. In response, JYP Entertainment, Dowoon’s agency, stated, “We have no separate statement,” which only intensified the rumors. The dating rumors then spiraled out of control, even leading to speculation about Dowoon’s potential departure from DAY6.

Consequently, on May 28, Dowoon posted on his Instagram story, “Our team will never disappear, I’m not going anywhere,” adding, “Don’t read any bad posts, ignore any posts related to me for now, and I’m sorry for hurting you all. Please wait a little longer.” However, this seemed insufficient to appease fans. Some fans continued their truck protests, demanding his departure from the group.
In contrast, the respective dating rumors involving singer Sung Si Kyung and Giselle received relatively lighthearted responses.
Recently, Sung Si Kyung faced dating rumors with Japanese actress Ayaka Miyoshi, who is 18 years his junior. The rumors emerged through various online communities after photos of Sung Si Kyung attentively caring for Miyoshi and a couple’s photoshoot were released. Sung Si Kyung later clarified, “She is a very beautiful, lovely, and charming person, but there is absolutely nothing romantic between us.”

Consequently, netizens responded with supportive comments such as, “Don’t explain, just get married!”, “Go get married!”, and “He’s like our older brother who can’t get married,” cheering him on.
Separately, dating rumors between Giselle and famous Japanese composer Shintaro Yasuda also spread. The rumors began when Giselle posted photos from her recent trip to Hawaii, and Shintaro Yasuda also shared pictures from the same location with similar compositions.
Interestingly, fellow aespa member Ningning left a tearful laughing emoji on a post discussing Giselle’s dating rumor, garnering significant attention. Netizens reacted with comments like, “How absurd must it be?” and “One emoji explains it all,” showing keen interest in the humorous situation.
