Jang Wonyoung’s Past Life: The Lonely Princess Cried “I Miss You” [IVE ARCHIVE]

K-pop group IVE (An Yu-jin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Won-young, Liz, Leeseo) recently embarked on a captivating past life regression experience.

Starship Entertainment recently unveiled a brand new episode of IVE’s self-produced content series, ‘IVE ON,’ on the group’s official YouTube channel.

In this premiere episode, IVE members delved into a ‘past life experience,’ something they had always wanted to try. The members appeared in outfits suited to their guesses about their past lives. Despite initial concerns about not being easily hypnotized, many found themselves shedding tears and unable to shake off the profound aftereffects of the regression.

An Yu-jin, who had worried about not being susceptible to hypnosis, began her journey from current life memories to a past life guided by the hypnotist. Yu-jin’s past self was revealed as a barefoot girl wandering lost in a forest, desperately searching for her parents. Overwhelmed by solitude and sorrow, with no one around, she ultimately broke down in tears.

Next, Gaeul’s past life regression revealed her as a blonde girl in a dress. In her twenties, she enjoyed simple joys like buying desserts with money earned from selling flowers. She harbored feelings for a knight in shining armor but their love remained unfulfilled. Gaeul chose ‘the knight’ as the person she’d like to meet again in this life and expressed a wish to ‘work hard in the next life.’

Rei, often told she resembles a guinea pig, entered hypnosis with the hopeful expectation of being a guinea pig in her past life. As the ‘door to her past life’ opened, Rei described her body as covered in fur and saw herself as a bird living with her family in a cave. She tragically died flying outside, leaving her injured mother behind, and shed tears of regret. Rei concluded her past life experience by expressing a desire for a long life in her next incarnation.

Jang Won-young, who was most eager for the past life experience, approached it with immense anticipation. Tracing back from her IVE activities to her trainee days, she reached the ‘door to her past life.’ Upon opening it, she saw herself as a princess living in a palace. Caught between a strict father and a mother who couldn’t fully express her love due to her husband’s watchful eye, Won-young felt lonely and cried. In her late twenties, she ascended to the throne as a queen, becoming a mother who showered her children with abundant love, living the life she desired. She concluded her regression after passing the throne to her son. Won-young shared her feelings, stating, ‘I naturally felt a sense of longing and sadness.’

Meanwhile, Leeseo, who started her experience hoping her past life was that of a princess, found herself as a girl named ‘Hana’ living in a city. Raised with education by her beautiful mother and dependable father, she later studied abroad in the United States and married a man she met at school. Leeseo lived a comfortable life, but a house fire led to the loss of a loved one. She concluded her past life journey wishing, ‘I wanted to live more happily.’ Leeseo humorously expressed her lingering regret, saying, ‘I wanted to be a princess (in my past life),’ unable to move from her spot.

Finally, Liz was the only member to experience two past lives. Her first past life was as an angel watching over the human world, helping those who were giving up on life. Reincarnated from this angelic existence, Liz’s second past life was as a man working for a large corporation. Recognized for his abilities at work, he eventually experienced burnout from pushing himself too hard since childhood. After resigning, he enjoyed a leisurely life with his accumulated wealth. However, having lived solely for work, he felt lonely due to a lack of friends. He shared his wish, ‘In my next life, I want to make friends, create memories, and live a fun life.’

After completing all their past life experiences, the IVE members met with a psychological counselor for advice. The counselor provided comforting guidance based on their past life journeys, deeply moving the members. IVE pledged, ‘Now that we know our past lives, we will live our current lives even more enjoyably.’
