HYBE’s highly anticipated global girl group, KATSEYE, has proudly taken home the ‘New Artist of the Year’ trophy.
The prestigious 2026 American Music Awards (AMA) ceremony was held at 9 AM KST on the 26th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA.
On this momentous occasion, KATSEYE triumphed over formidable nominees Alex Warren, Ella Langley, Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean, and Sombrio to be crowned ‘New Artist of the Year’ – a testament to their rising global impact.
Yoonchae, the sole Korean member of the acclaimed group, expressed her profound gratitude, stating, “I am incredibly thankful to share this unforgettable moment with my amazing fellow members.”
KATSEYE also extended their heartfelt thanks to global superstars BTS, their labelmates who were present at the event. “We are deeply grateful to BTS for being here with us today,” KATSEYE members shared. “They have truly inspired us to express our unique culture to fans worldwide.”
Beyond KATSEYE’s significant achievement, HYBE labelmates BTS were also honored at the event, winning the coveted ‘Song of the Summer’ award for their hit track ‘SWIM’.
KATSEYE is a groundbreaking global girl group, meticulously formed through ‘The Debut: Dream Academy’ – a massive global audition that attracted over 120,000 aspiring talents. This successful venture is a collaborative effort between HYBE and Geffen Records, aiming to produce a new generation of K-Pop inspired artists for the international stage.
