K-Pop superstar G-Dragon, a member of the iconic boy group BIGBANG, made a high-profile appearance in Busan.
On July 19th, G-Dragon graced the opening ceremony of the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee, held at BEXCO in Busan, in his capacity as an official goodwill ambassador.
During his address, G-Dragon expressed profound gratitude, stating, “I sincerely thank UNESCO for its enduring efforts in safeguarding humanity’s precious heritage, and all those gathered here today.” He then eloquently described Busan, the esteemed host city, as “a wondrous metropolis that has transformed its painful history of war into a vibrant haven of peace and hope.”
G-Dragon powerfully emphasized his conviction that “the preservation of heritage is not merely about safeguarding the past, but fundamentally about forging a future of peace.” He further articulated, “I firmly believe that art can play a pivotal role in protecting future World Heritage sites.”
He concluded his inspiring speech by asserting, “Art possesses the power to stir our collective hearts, and when these individual sentiments unite, they can truly transform the world. I am committed to lending my support in safeguarding and preserving global heritage sites that are imperiled by conflicts and the ongoing climate crisis.”
