Global football powerhouse FC Bayern Munich thrilled fans worldwide by releasing a surprise support video just one day before K-pop sensation BTS’s (V, Jungkook, Jin, Jimin, RM, J-Hope, Suga) highly anticipated concerts at the Allianz Arena.
On October 10th (local time), Bayern Munich posted a video on their official X (formerly Twitter) account featuring star players, including German national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, looking bewildered as they held ARMY Bombs – BTS’s official light sticks. In the clip, players are seen asking, “What is this? What are we doing?” before South Korean defender Kim Min-jae steps in to explain, “This is BTS’s official light stick, which fans use to light up and cheer together during concerts.” The video concludes with Neuer enthusiastically shouting, “Hello, BTS! We wish you a good performance!”
Accompanying the video, Bayern Munich’s social media post read, “Never thought we needed Manuel Neuer with an ARMY BOMB in our lives!!”
BTS is scheduled to perform their world tour concerts for two days, on the 11th and 12th, at the 75,000-capacity Allianz Arena. They have made history as the first Asian artists to achieve two consecutive sold-out shows at this iconic stadium.
This marks BTS’s first performance in Germany in eight years, following their 2018 ‘Love Yourself’ tour in Berlin. The Allianz Arena itself extended a warm welcome through its official channels, stating, “With authentic self-produced music, outstanding performances, and strong ties with their fan community, BTS has established itself as a 21st-century pop icon.”
Fan reactions across social media were explosive.
