Rising K-pop boy group CORTIS has achieved unprecedented success, standing shoulder to shoulder with their esteemed labelmates, global superstars BTS, under Big Hit Music.

On May 11th, according to album sales tracking site Hanteo Chart, CORTIS’s (comprised of members Martin, James, Juhun, Seonghyun, and Gunho) second mini-album, ‘GREENGREEN,’ sold an astonishing total of 2,313,291 copies between May 4th and 10th. This remarkable feat secured the top position on the weekly album chart, representing over a five-fold increase from the first-week sales (436,367 copies) of their debut mini-album, ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,’ released in September last year.

This monumental achievement places ‘GREENGREEN’ as the second-highest-selling K-pop album released this year, following only BTS’s 5th full-length album, ‘ARIRANG,’ which recorded 4.17 million first-week sales in March. CORTIS’s ‘GREENGREEN’ swiftly became a ‘million-seller’ on its release day, May 4th, with approximately 1.2 million units sold, and rapidly ascended to ‘double million-seller’ status within just four days. This showcases CORTIS’s impactful presence in the K-pop market, proving their top-tier status less than a year after their debut.

The title track, ‘REDRED,’ is spearheading the ‘GREENGREEN’ album’s sensation with its fresh musical texture and highly addictive performance. Notably, the track has consistently set new records on the global audio and music streaming platform, Spotify. CORTIS made history as the first K-pop boy group to debut within the last five years to chart on the ‘Daily Top Song Global,’ maintaining its position at 93rd place for 18 consecutive days as of May 9th. Furthermore, ‘REDRED’ has proudly remained on the ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ chart for two consecutive weeks.

CORTIS’s monthly listeners on Spotify have surged by over 40% in just one month, reaching an impressive 10,322,254 as of May 10th. This exceptional figure places them among the ‘Top 5’ K-pop boy groups historically, alongside industry giants like BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and ENHYPEN. Domestically, their success continued, with the title track achieving its highest rankings on Korean music charts, reaching 6th on Melon’s daily chart on May 9th and securing 2nd place on the ‘Top 100’ at 11 PM on May 10th.

CORTIS continues to fuel their soaring popularity with a rich array of engaging content. They have captivated audiences by performing both their title track ‘REDRED’ and the captivating B-side ‘TNT’ on various music shows, offering diverse and exciting performances. On May 11th at 9 PM KST, fans can look forward to the release of the music video for ‘ACAI,’ another B-side track from their second mini-album, on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel. This will be their third music video following ‘REDRED’ and ‘TNT.’

A teaser video released the previous day sparked curiosity, featuring the five members walking through a desert alongside a donkey. The song ‘ACAI’ draws inspiration from the members’ favorite food, acai bowls. Beyond its cheerful lyrics, the track carries a profound message: striving to be fundamental individuals, just like a delicious acai bowl that tastes great even with just the base and no toppings. Members Martin and Seonghyun actively participated in the production, with all members contributing to the lyrics and composition.
