Cortis Achieves 10 Music Show Wins as K-Pop Trendsetter

K-pop group CORTIS (Martin, James, Joohoon, Seonghyun, Gunho) has solidified their status as a “K-pop sensation,” achieving an impressive 10 music show wins with ‘REDRED’, the title track from their second mini-album.

On May 30th, CORTIS secured first place on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’, marking their “Triple Crown” on the program and their tenth win across all major broadcasting stations. This remarkable achievement places them second only to BTS (with 14 wins) for the most music show trophies this year. Furthermore, the group accomplished a “Grand Slam,” securing victories on five different music programs: Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’, KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’, SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’, and MBC M/MBC every1’s ‘Show! Champion’.

During a Weverse Live broadcast, the CORTIS members shared their heartfelt thanks, stating, “We desperately hoped for this, but we didn’t expect it. Achieving 10 wins within six weeks of our comeback feels profoundly meaningful.” They added, “We extend our deepest gratitude to our fandom, COER, for their votes and unwavering support.”

‘REDRED’ is a song that distinctly showcases CORTIS’s musical direction. Its unique lyrics, addictive melody, and the popular ‘Floppy Ear Dance’ have garnered significant attention. The track reached a new personal high, ranking 36th on the Spotify Daily Chart (as of May 4th) and remained on the ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ chart for five consecutive weeks. Domestically, ‘REDRED’ also claimed the No. 1 spot on both the daily and weekly charts of Melon and Bugs.

In related news, the music video for ‘Blue Lips’, a B-side track from CORTIS’s second mini-album, premiered on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel at midnight on May 31st. This is the fourth of five music videos prepared for their new album. The release was strategically timed for the 31st, coinciding with the “Blue Moon” phenomenon – when two full moons occur in a single month. ‘Blue Lips’ originated from a self-composed song by Martin during his trainee days. The music video beautifully captures the five members gathered at a swimming pool in their Los Angeles accommodation.
