BTS V (Kim Taehyung) deeply impressed Mexico with his exceptional politeness and thoughtful gestures during a high-profile visit, garnering widespread admiration.

On the afternoon of May 6th (local time), BTS members, including V (Kim Taehyung), were honored with an invitation by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to visit the Presidential Palace. After a cordial meeting, the group joined President Sheinbaum on the palace balcony, where they greeted an estimated 50,000 enthusiastic fans filling Zócalo Square. This momentous occasion marked BTS’s return to Mexico after a nine-year hiatus, coinciding with their much-anticipated world tour concerts in the country.

The sheer excitement was palpable as BTS emerged onto the balcony. Despite the scorching heat, the massive crowd of approximately 50,000 fans erupted in thunderous cheers, echoing across Zócalo Square. During this heartfelt moment, V further endeared himself to the nation by delivering a specially prepared message in Spanish, profoundly touching both the dedicated ARMY and the broader Mexican public.

Referencing notes on his phone, V spoke with earnest sincerity in Spanish, saying, “Hello. I don’t speak Spanish very well, but I will do my best. I missed you all so much. I missed Mexico so much. The atmosphere here is truly amazing. Thank you so much for loving us this much. See you next time. Goodbye.” His thoughtful effort sparked an even greater explosion of cheers, bringing the enthusiasm in the square to a peak.

V‘s thoughtful gestures didn’t stop there. A moment that garnered significant local attention was when he observed President Sheinbaum positioned behind the BTS members. With genuine respect, V gestured for her to step forward and join them at the front, actively creating space for her. The President acknowledged his courteous invitation with a warm smile and an appreciative pat on his back. Mexican fans lauded V’s actions, widely praising them as a prime example of ‘K-Manner’ – highlighting the respectful and polite conduct often associated with Korean culture.

Later, when President Sheinbaum approached the microphone to address the Mexican people, V quickly observed that it was set too high. Demonstrating his attentiveness, he promptly adjusted the microphone, tilting and lowering it to perfectly suit the President’s height, and graciously held it in place for her throughout her address.

Across social media platforms, V‘s regal appearance and extraordinarily thoughtful actions sparked an immense buzz. Phrases such as ‘MEXICO LOVES TAEHYUNG’, ‘Kim Taehyung’, and even ‘MUCHO PICANTE’ rapidly climbed to the top of real-time trends in Mexico, showcasing his profound impact and immense popularity.

Reinforcing the deep connection between BTS and Mexico, data from Spotify indicates that Mexico stands as the world’s fifth-largest K-pop consumer market, with BTS reigning as the most streamed artist in the country. Continuing their highly anticipated engagements, BTS is set to deliver their world tour concerts on May 7th, 9th, and 10th (local time) at the renowned Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, promising unforgettable performances for their Mexican ARMY.
