Global sensation BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) has continued their impressive run, maintaining a ‘Top 3’ position on the US Billboard ‘Global’ charts for an astounding six consecutive weeks.

BTS Dominates Billboard Global Charts with ‘ARIRANG’ and ‘SWIM’

According to the latest charts (dated May 9th) released on May 5th by the esteemed US music publication Billboard, ‘SWIM,’ the title track from BTS’s 5th full-length album, ‘ARIRANG,’ soared to second place on both the ‘Global (Excl. US)’ and ‘Global 200’ charts. Notably, ‘SWIM’ showcased remarkable resilience on the ‘Global 200,’ climbing one spot from the previous week. Furthermore, all thirteen vocal tracks from the ‘ARIRANG’ album, excluding the distinct sound of the Emille Bell, have successfully entered both charts for the sixth consecutive week, underscoring the widespread and consistent popularity of the entire album.

Continued Success on Main Billboard Charts

BTS’s journey on Billboard’s main charts also remains exceptionally strong. The album ‘ARIRANG’ secured the 5th position on the highly competitive ‘Billboard 200,’ the main album chart, maintaining its top-tier status for six weeks straight. This monumental album previously etched its name in history as the first work by a Korean artist to claim the No. 1 spot for three consecutive weeks on this prestigious chart. ‘SWIM’ also continued its impressive streak, ranking 32nd on the main song chart, ‘Hot 100,’ marking its sixth week within the rankings.

Strong Presence Across Detailed Charts

The group’s performance across more detailed charts is equally remarkable. ‘ARIRANG’ landed at 4th on ‘Top Album Sales’ and 11th on ‘Top Streaming Albums.’ On the ‘Vinyl Albums’ chart, the album saw a significant jump of three spots from the previous week, settling comfortably at 5th place. Meanwhile, ‘SWIM’ consistently held high positions on ‘Digital Song Sales’ (16th) and ‘Adult Contemporary’ (19th), demonstrating its enduring appeal.

Radio Success and Tour Impact

In addition to their chart dominance, BTS also made a strong presence on radio airwaves, charting at 12th on ‘Pop Airplay,’ 14th on ‘Adult Pop Airplay,’ and 24th on ‘Radio Song.’ These consistently strong results across digital song sales and radio metrics firmly underscore their expansive public popularity. Furthermore, the 2017 track ‘Pied Piper,’ which was enthusiastically performed at the recent ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG” concert in Tampa, USA, made a surprise re-entry at 9th on ‘World Digital Song Sales,’ vividly illustrating the profound ripple effect and lasting power of their live performances.

North American Tour Continues to Thrill Fans

Meanwhile, BTS ignited their ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN NORTH AMERICA’ on the 25th of last month (local time), commencing in Tampa. This massive tour spans 31 exhilarating shows across 12 vibrant cities. From May 2nd to 3rd, the group captivated approximately 100,000 enthusiastic fans at the iconic Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso. The city’s famous landmark, the ‘Star on the Mountain,’ was brilliantly illuminated with purple lights, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Public transportation, specifically the ‘El Paso Street Car,’ even extended its operating hours to accommodate the concert-goers, transforming the entire city into a jubilant festival. Having successfully wrapped up their unforgettable El Paso performances, BTS is now set to continue their tour momentum, bringing the heat to Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City starting May 7th.
