BTS’s Jin captivated Mexico and the entire world with his “Visual King” appearance and elegant demeanor.

On May 7 (KST), BTS met with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the Presidential Palace in Mexico City, following an official invitation. The group received a warm welcome and was honored as “Distinguished Visitors” (Visitantes Distinguidos) by the Mexican government, receiving a commemorative plaque. The plaque recognized BTS for inspiring Mexican youth through their music and contributing to community building based on a culture of respect, empathy, diversity, and peace.
On this notable day, BTS members joined the President on the balcony to greet Mexican citizens gathered in the historic Zócalo Plaza. Approximately 50,000 people welcomed BTS with fervent cheers. As fans awaited the group in the packed Zócalo Plaza, Jin’s first solo OST, “YOURS,” played loudly, adding to the electrifying atmosphere.

Clad in a pristine, light beige suit, the “God of Beauty,” Jin, immediately took out his Samsung Galaxy phone to capture the awe-inspiring sight of the plaza densely filled with adoring fans. He couldn’t take his eyes off the fans, greeting them warmly, and they responded with an overwhelming enthusiasm that seemed to shake the entire plaza. Jin’s overwhelming, prince-like visuals and elegant demeanor became a major topic not only among Mexican citizens but also globally, drawing admiration from all who witnessed him.

After concluding his greetings, Jin turned around and exclaimed, “I love you, Army!”, showcasing his immense affection for his fans. The explosive reaction towards Jin extended beyond the venue, with phrases like ‘PRINCE JIN IN MEXICO’ and ‘WE LOVE YOU JIN’ prominently trending on X (formerly Twitter) in various countries, including the United States.

Jin, a global sensation, undeniably proved his unparalleled popularity and influence in Mexico. Countless fans held up placards featuring Jin’s photos or name, and even RJ, the adorable character Jin created, as they passionately cheered for him.

Jin was crowned ‘2025 K-POP Artist’ by Mexico’s No.1 online pop music station, ‘House Radio,’ marking his second consecutive year to receive this prestigious honor. His solo mini-album’s title track, “Don’t Say You Love Me,” also secured a prominent spot in the ‘K-POP Song’ category, further reaffirming his robust musical prowess as a solo artist. Furthermore, “Don’t Say You Love Me” claimed the #1 position in ‘Top 30 Songs Representing Summer 2025.’ On May 4, ‘House Radio’ announced that “Don’t Say You Love Me” also topped the charts for the first week of May, solidifying Jin’s status as a consistent chart-topper on Mexico’s leading radio station.

Last year, Marcelo Ebrard, Mexico’s Secretary of Economy, who visited Korea for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, attended Jin’s second-day solo encore concert, ‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR_ENCORE,’ held at the Incheon Munhak Stadium on November 1.
