Global sensation BTS achieves a clean sweep on Spotify’s global charts with 14 songs!
According to Spotify on March 21st, BTS’s 5th full-length album, ‘ARIRANG’, has become the most-streamed K-pop album of all time. It also earned the title of the most-played album in a single day this year, solidifying its immense popularity.
BTS also made a significant impact on Spotify’s ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart. The title track, ‘SWIM’, debuted at number 1 on the chart dated March 20th, and all tracks from the album ranked from 1st to 14th place. The entirety of the top of the global music chart was filled with BTS’s songs. Even the 6th interlude track, featuring the sound of the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok, charted, drawing attention. They also topped the ‘Daily Top Artists Global’ chart.
The fervent anticipation for BTS’s comeback was also evident in Apple Music’s new records. ‘ARIRANG’ became the most-streamed K-pop album worldwide on its first day of release in Apple Music history. Furthermore, it became the group’s most-streamed Pop album on its first day. The global music fans’ anticipation for the group’s comeback after 3 years and 9 months was proven through these figures.
‘ARIRANG’ is dominating domestic album and music charts as well. The title track ‘SWIM’ topped the Melon Daily Chart on March 20th, and maintained its number one position on the real-time chart ‘Top 100’ from 8 AM on March 21st to 1 PM on March 22nd. Album sales are also remarkable. On the first day of release, it surpassed 3.98 million copies based on Hanteo Chart data, exceeding the team’s previous highest first-week sales (sales during the first week of release) in a single day. It also maintained its top position on the Hanteo Chart Daily Chart for two consecutive days (March 20th-21st).
Meanwhile, ‘ARIRANG’ is an album that captures BTS’s identity and the universal emotions they face. Bang Si-hyuk participated as the general producer, and the members’ sincere feelings are embedded throughout.
