BTS Nominated for ‘Artist of the Year,’ ‘Best Male K-Pop Artist,’ and ‘Song of the Summer’ at American Music Awards!
Global superstar group BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) has once again been nominated for a prestigious award at the ‘American Music Awards’ (AMAs), one of the top three major music awards in the United States.
According to the nominee list announced by the American Music Awards on the 14th, BTS earned a nomination in the highly coveted ‘Artist of the Year’ category.
In 2021, BTS made history as the first Korean artist to ever win ‘Artist of the Year,’ leaving an indelible mark on global music. This latest nomination significantly boosts anticipation for their second potential victory in this grand prize category. BTS will compete against nine formidable pop stars, including Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga.
Beyond ‘Artist of the Year,’ BTS also secured nominations in two other significant categories: ‘Best Male K-Pop Artist’ and ‘Song of the Summer,’ bringing their total nominations to three. For ‘Song of the Summer,’ their track ‘SWIM’ is up against Harry Styles’ ‘American Girls’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘Elizabeth Taylor’. ‘SWIM’ is particularly noteworthy for its nomination less than a month after its release.

The American Music Awards ceremony will take place on May 25th (local time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA. It will be broadcast live via CBS and Paramount+.
In related news, BTS dominated the US Billboard main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ and main song chart ‘Hot 100’ simultaneously on April 4th with their track ‘Arirang’ and title track ‘SWIM’. They notably became the first Korean artist to rank #1 on the ‘Billboard 200’ for three consecutive weeks. ‘SWIM’ has also maintained its ‘Top 5’ position on the ‘Hot 100’ for three weeks, further solidifying their global impact.
