Rapper BewhY has addressed the controversy surrounding his lyrics in ‘Show Me The Money 12’.
On the 27th, BewhY commented on the lyrics of Kwon Oh-sun’s ‘W.I.N.’, which he featured on in Mnet’s ‘Show Me The Money 12’.
BewhY stated, “The absence of the lyrics on music streaming sites was a deletion I made myself to emphasize the word,” and added, “The information that there was self-censorship on music streaming sites, etc., is not true.”
The lyrics in ‘W.I.N’, specifically ‘You’d be surprised if you uncovered it all, that level is like foresight’, sparked controversy after the performance.
The word “foresight” (‘seon-gu-an’ in Korean) sounded similar to the Korean abbreviation for the National Election Commission (‘seon-gwan-wi’), leading to opinions suggesting that the lyrics implied allegations of election fraud. Additionally, lyrics such as “I dumped my EX for praising equality over freedom” and “Ola comprehensive income Tax” drew reactions suggesting they left room for political interpretation.
Subsequently, the phrase “foresight” was deleted from the lyrics of ‘W.I.N’ on music streaming sites, further fueling curiosity.
