Acclaimed actor Yoo Hae-jin has made a significant donation to Asan Medical Center, expressing his heartfelt wish that the contribution will enable cancer patients to access superior treatment in a comforting and secure setting, facilitating their journey back to daily life.
This recent act of generosity brings Yoo’s total contributions to Asan Medical Center to an impressive 200 million won, following previous donations in 2022 and 2023, demonstrating a consistent commitment to patient welfare.
Asan Medical Center confirms plans to strategically utilize Yoo Hae-jin’s donation to implement cutting-edge treatment systems specifically designed for cancer patients and significantly enhance the overall treatment environment, ensuring optimal care.
This philanthropic gesture follows a period of significant professional acclaim for Yoo Hae-jin, who recently clinched the grand prize in the film category at the prestigious Baeksang Awards. His award-winning performance in “The King’s Warden” has also achieved remarkable success, becoming the second-most watched film in Korean cinema history since its February release.
Directed by Jang Hang-jun, “The King’s Warden” captivates audiences with its compelling narrative of an unlikely friendship. The film brilliantly depicts the bond formed between village chief Eom Heung-do, powerfully portrayed by Yoo Hae-jin, and the exiled, dethroned King Danjong (Park Ji-hoon) during a turbulent era of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910).
