In a significant development for the global music industry, four prominent **South Korean K-pop agencies** have announced their plans to establish a joint corporation. This new entity will be dedicated to advancing “Fanomenon,” an ambitious **international music festival** initiative aimed at expanding the reach of **Korean culture** worldwide.
The concept of “Fanomenon” was first introduced last October by JYP founder Park Jin-young, who also serves as co-chair of the Presidential Committee for Popular Culture Exchange. Speaking at the committee’s inauguration ceremony in Goyang, northwest of Seoul, Park explained that the festival’s name ingeniously combines the words “fan” and “phenomenon.” He further detailed a bold vision to launch this **massive K-pop festival** by December 2027, with the explicit goal of creating a **global music event** capable of rivaling established festivals such as the U.S.-based Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The participating agencies described this strategic joint venture as a “model for collaboration,” designed to actively explore new possibilities for the global expansion of **Korean culture**, with a particular focus on the booming popularity of **K-pop** in international markets. This collaboration underscores a unified effort to elevate South Korea’s cultural presence on the world stage.
While procedures for formally establishing the corporate body are currently in progress, the agencies emphasized that detailed business plans and specific operational methodologies for the **Fanomenon music festival** have not yet been finalized. They assured stakeholders that the process is being handled with utmost care and strategic foresight.
“The companies are committed to making cautious and well-informed decisions, carefully considering prevailing market conditions and a diverse range of opinions to ensure the success of this monumental **global K-pop event**,” they added.
