T.O.P, formerly of the iconic K-pop group BIGBANG, has made his highly anticipated return with new music. As he embarks on this new chapter as a solo artist, shedding the BIGBANG name, fellow BIGBANG members have shown continuous support, sparking renewed interest in a potential BIGBANG reunion as the group celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
T.O.P officially released his first full-length solo album, ‘ANOTHER DIMENSION,’ on April 3rd at 6 PM KST across major online music platforms. Following this significant comeback, G-Dragon posted promotional content for T.O.P’s new release on his personal social media account. Notably, the image G-Dragon shared displayed “8:19,” leading to widespread speculation that this timestamp intentionally aligns with BIGBANG’s debut date of August 19th, further intensifying excitement and discussions about a potential BIGBANG reunion.

Before G-Dragon’s direct post, both G-Dragon and Taeyang, fellow BIGBANG members, had already shown their support for T.O.P’s solo comeback by liking social media posts discussing his return. G-Dragon’s subsequent dedicated post has further fueled public interest in the strong friendship and continued camaraderie among the members.
This new release marks T.O.P’s first full-length album in approximately 20 years, following his debut in 2006. T.O.P was deeply involved in the entire production process, taking a hands-on approach. According to the official tracklist, the album features “Totally Crazy! (Studio54)” and “DESPERADO” as its double title tracks, promising a dynamic and diverse sound.

Beyond the title tracks, the album boasts a comprehensive tracklist, including the powerful opening track “SELF CRUCIFIXION,” followed by “THE GIANT,” “OVAYA (A SMALL, FILTHY SHOW WINDOW),” “ZERO-COKE,” “Another Dimension Holy Dude !!!!!!!!!!,” “SEOUL CHAOS,” the heartfelt fan-dedicated track “FOR FANS,” “After the Play Ends,” and the concluding track “BE SOLID.”
A significant highlight of this album is the involvement of renowned engineer IRKO, who handled the sound design and mixing for all tracks. IRKO is celebrated for his work with global pop icons such as Kanye West and The Weeknd, adding a world-class sonic quality to T.O.P’s solo endeavor.
Further elevating the artistic vision of the album, legendary American layout artist and living master painter Ed Ruscha, along with Chae Kyung-sun, the acclaimed art director for the Netflix series ‘Squid Game,’ contributed to the overall album design and provided comprehensive art direction for the music video.
It is important to note that T.O.P previously enlisted as a conscripted policeman in February 2017. During his military service, he was subsequently indicted for smoking marijuana, a charge that came to light later. He received a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. Following this, his position as a conscripted policeman was revoked, and he completed his mandatory military service as a public service worker.
In 2019, T.O.P had publicly expressed his intention to retire and stated, “I have no intention of making a comeback” on his personal social media after a netizen commented, “Don’t come back, just reflect.” At that time, he also clarified that he had “already left BIGBANG.”
However, T.O.P made his official return to the entertainment industry by appearing in ‘Squid Game 2,’ which premiered in 2024. Following his acting comeback, he has now fully resumed his primary career as a musician with the release of his much-anticipated solo album.
