BTS’ RM sustained a leg injury on Thursday and was immediately taken to the hospital for examination and treatment, BigHit Music announced. Medical professionals diagnosed him with ligament damage and inflammation, recommending a leg cast and advising against excessive movement for a minimum of two weeks.
The unfortunate incident occurred just two days before BTS is scheduled to hold a highly anticipated free outdoor concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, celebrating the release of their fifth full-length album, “Arirang.”
Despite the setback, RM has expressed his strong desire to participate in the event, which will take place at Gwanghwamun Square, a significant landmark in the heart of Seoul, according to the agency.
“Prioritizing the medical team’s advice and to prevent any further aggravation of the injury, we have made the difficult decision, in collaboration with the artist, to limit RM’s movements during the show,” BigHit Music stated. They added that certain choreography and stage performances would be adjusted to ensure the injury isn’t worsened.
