A Brazilian woman who repeatedly stalked Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook) of the K-pop sensation BTS has been indicted.
According to News1 on March 3rd, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office’s Women and Children’s Crime Investigation Department indicted A, a Brazilian woman in her 30s, on charges of violating the Stalking Punishment Act and trespassing on January 27th. She is currently in custody.
A is accused of stalking Jungkook by visiting his residence a total of 23 times between December 7th of last year and January 4th of this year, ringing the doorbell hundreds of times, and leaving mail. On January 13th, A was arrested on the spot for trespassing after entering Jungkook’s residence through a side gate while a food delivery person was entering. As A’s offenses continued, police applied for an arrest warrant for A in January, and a custodial investigation began on February 13th.
The prosecution dismissed the attempted trespassing charge against A due to insufficient evidence. The prosecution determined that the CCTV footage did not confirm that A pressed the door lock keypad or pushed and pulled the side gate. It is known that Jungkook requested a restraining order against A.
Previously, in June of last year, a Chinese woman who visited Jungkook’s home and repeatedly pressed the front door password on the day of his discharge from military service was apprehended. In August, a Korean woman in her 40s was also arrested for unauthorized intrusion into the parking lot of his home, highlighting the ongoing stalking incidents targeting Jungkook.
