TWICE’s iconic music video for “What is Love?” has surpassed a monumental 900 million views on YouTube, marking a first for the globally renowned K-pop group, JYP Entertainment announced Thursday. This milestone solidifies TWICE’s position as one of the leading forces in K-pop.
Released in April 2018 as the title track from their fifth EP of the same name, the “What is Love?” music video showcases the nine members of TWICE transforming into characters from beloved movies, visually expressing their diverse and imaginative interpretations of love. The six-track EP achieved remarkable success, selling over 100,000 copies within its first week, securing its place as the fourth-highest-selling first-week album by a K-pop girl group at the time. This achievement cemented TWICE’s popularity and influence in the industry.
Currently, TWICE is captivating audiences across North America as part of “READY TO BE,” their most expansive world tour to date. The tour kicked off last month in Vancouver, Canada, and is scheduled to continue across six more major North American cities. Unfortunately, Dahyun will be absent from the remaining ten North American shows due to a recent ankle fracture, as confirmed by JYP Entertainment on Wednesday. We wish her a speedy recovery.
