Singer G.NA, who was fined and subsequently removed from the entertainment industry following charges related to prostitution mediation, has opened up about her past and shared her current feelings.
On the 18th, G.NA posted a video on her Instagram account with the caption: “Hello, let’s meet again. Chapter 2. Finding my voice.” This post has garnered significant attention, fueling speculation about her return to the music scene.
The recently released video delves into G.NA’s emotions as she prepares for a new beginning. She revealed, “For the past few years, people have created stories about me from afar. However, those narratives never truly captured my authentic self.” She added, “For a long time, I chose silence. Not because those stories were true, but because I wasn’t ready to speak yet.”
She further elaborated, “People often misunderstand silence. Sometimes, silence is simply necessary to endure. It’s also vital for survival and healing, and I chose to wait until I could speak confidently and truthfully.”
G.NA explained her motivation for stepping back into the spotlight, stating, “Just standing here now, as I approach my forties, holds immense significance. It’s not about proving my worth to strangers. I’m here again because music has always been a sanctuary, a true home for me.”
She emphasized her commitment to transparency, asserting, “One day, I will tell my story directly with my own voice, free from sensational headlines or unfounded rumors.”
G.NA, who debuted in 2010, rose to fame and received considerable love for hit songs such as ‘Black & White’ and ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live Well’. However, her career faced a significant downturn in 2016 when she was fined 2 million won for violating the Act on the Punishment of Intermediary in Prostitution and Related Acts, which effectively led to her expulsion from the K-pop entertainment industry.
Having resided in Canada since the controversy, G.NA has recently reactivated her social media presence and is steadily resuming her public activities. Marking her 16th debut anniversary, she candidly reflected on the past controversies, confessing, “People say, ‘You handled it really well.’ But I didn’t. I was spiraling and lost the vitality within me.”
