NCT and WayV member Winwin is set to depart from SM Entertainment (hereafter SM), concluding his exclusive contract with the agency and leaving the group.
On the 8th, SM Entertainment officially announced, “Following thorough discussions with our artist Winwin, we have mutually agreed to terminate his exclusive contract effective the 9th. As a result, Winwin will conclude all his activities with NCT.”
The agency further added, “We extend our sincere gratitude to Winwin, who has been with us for over a decade, since his days as a trainee. We will continue to support Winwin’s future endeavors as he begins a new chapter.”
Winwin’s departure marks the third NCT member to leave the group this year. Earlier in April, member Mark also concluded all group activities after his contract with SM Entertainment ended. In the same month, Ten similarly departed from SM; however, the agency clarified that arrangements would be made for Ten to potentially participate in future WayV and NCT group activities.
Originally from China, Winwin debuted as a member of NCT in 2016. Since late 2018, he has largely been absent from NCT’s activities, shifting his focus to his burgeoning career in China. During this period, Winwin has actively pursued acting, appearing in Chinese dramas such as ‘Wu Fu Lin Men’ and ‘Yang Jin Mi Jin.’
