Doosan Corp. announced Friday a significant strategic partnership with LG CNS, formalized through a new memorandum of understanding (MOU). This collaboration aims to bolster global competitiveness across crucial future technology sectors: advanced data centers, innovative hydrogen drone logistics, and the transformative fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and robot transformation (AX/RX).
The official signing ceremony took place on Thursday at LG Science Park in western Seoul, attended by Doosan Corp. President Yoo Seung-woo and LG CNS President Hyun Shin-gyoon, underscoring the high-level commitment to this joint venture.
A core element of this agreement is the joint advancement in **data center** and **cloud businesses**. Both companies are set to form a dedicated business cooperation task force, tasked with developing detailed operational plans within the next month to ensure rapid implementation.
Specifically, Doosan will explore integrating Doosan Mobility Innovation’s highly efficient **hydrogen fuel cells** into LG CNS’s extensive data center projects. Concurrently, LG CNS will apply its cutting-edge technologies to enhance Doosan’s existing cloud and data center infrastructure, fostering mutual growth and technological synergy.
The partnership extends to **logistics innovation**, focusing on sustainable and eco-friendly mobility solutions. Building upon their ongoing collaboration since 2025, Doosan and LG CNS plan to establish a comprehensive framework for the full-scale deployment of their **hydrogen fuel cell-based logistics business**, aiming to revolutionize supply chain operations.
In the rapidly evolving **AI and robot transformation (AX/RX) sectors**, the collaboration will see the integration of hydrogen fuel cells with LG CNS’s sophisticated robot learning and operation platform, PhysicalWorks. To further strengthen Doosan’s **agentic AI capabilities**, the companies will identify specific application cases leveraging LG CNS’s agentic AI platform and develop a strategic roadmap for its adoption.
Furthermore, both entities will combine their expertise to develop **autonomous maintenance systems** for critical manufacturing equipment and large industrial plants. This advanced initiative will harness the power of agentic AI, innovative hydrogen drones, and precise **digital twin technologies** to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
Hyun Shin-gyoon, President of LG CNS, highlighted the potential, stating, “LG CNS’s unrivaled capabilities in AX and RX (AI and robot transformation) and Doosan’s strong technical abilities will generate great synergy, driving forward innovation.”
Echoing this sentiment, Yoo Seung-woo, President of Doosan Corp., added, “From enhancing data centers to pioneering advancements in robotics and AI, this comprehensive collaboration is poised to elevate the future value and market position of both companies significantly.”
