Seventeen Duo V8 (The 8 & Vernon) to Release Debut Album and Launch Concerts
Seventeen members The 8 and Vernon are set to debut a new K-pop unit, V8, with their first album releasing on June 29, Pledis Entertainment announced Thursday.
The unit name, V8, cleverly combines Vernon’s “V” and The 8’s “8.” This dynamic name symbolizes the duo’s powerful driving force and unique originality, likening the unit’s energy to an eight-cylinder engine generating robust acceleration.
Following the highly anticipated album release, V8 will embark on their standalone concert series, “2026 Vernon The 8 [V8] Live.” Fans can catch their performances on July 11-12 at Kintex Exhibition Center 1 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, and then on July 18-19 at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong.
Both members have already established strong reputations for their individual creative contributions beyond Seventeen’s group activities.
The 8 has consistently released diverse solo music, including his 2024 Chinese EP “Stardust.” He has also expanded his artistic endeavors through “The 8 Contemporary Art,” a distinctive art film series that seamlessly blends music with contemporary dance.
Vernon has showcased his talent in songwriting and production for various artists, including Yugyeom, Bumzu, and Drunken Tiger. In 2024, his contributions were recognized with a promotion to a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association. Last year, he also gained voting membership in the prestigious Recording Academy. In 2022, Vernon released his self-written mixtape, “Black Eye,” further cementing his versatility as an artist.
