Global K-pop phenomenon BTS recently transformed Las Vegas into a vibrant, red-themed celebration of “Arirang” ahead of their highly anticipated concert series in the US city. This large-scale citywide campaign was intricately tied to their ongoing world tour, creating an immersive experience for fans and visitors alike.
The spectacular “BTS The City Arirang — Las Vegas” initiative officially launched on May 20, preceding the group’s four sold-out concerts at Allegiant Stadium, held on May 23-24 and May 27-28. Following their impactful “purple takeover” during their 2022 Las Vegas performances, BTS returned this year with a dynamic citywide activation centered around the striking color red – a significant theme reflecting their fifth studio album, “Arirang.”
A major highlight of this expansive campaign was an extraordinary activation at Sphere, recognized as the world’s largest spherical performance venue. On each concert night, the Sphere’s colossal exterior came alive with breathtaking visuals inspired by rich Korean traditional imagery and the conceptual framework of BTS’s “Arirang” album.

The Sphere’s display featured silhouettes of the BTS members holding traditional Korean lanterns, alongside majestic giant bell imagery. This particular visual was a poignant homage to “No. 29,” the album’s sixth track, which famously incorporates an audio recording of the historic Sacred Bell of King Seongdeok. The bell imagery was accompanied by intricate sound vibration waves that gracefully propagated across the massive structure before the “Arirang” album logo dramatically appeared, followed by the profound messages: “What Is Your Love Song?” and “What Is Your Arirang?”
Beyond the Sphere, the entire Las Vegas Strip was immersed in the “Arirang” theme. Iconic landmarks, including the High Roller observation wheel, the replica Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas, and the prominent Las Vegas Gateway Arches, were brilliantly illuminated in vibrant red hues. Furthermore, over 30 digital billboards positioned strategically throughout the city showcased welcoming messages for BTS and promoted their electrifying “Arirang” tour.

Complementing the visual spectacles, a series of engaging offline events captivated fans across Las Vegas. A breathtaking six-minute fireworks show, perfectly synchronized to BTS’s popular tracks “Normal” and “Hooligan,” lit up the sky above a major resort on the Strip. Meanwhile, Las Vegas monorails were transformed with striking red visuals and the thought-provoking slogan “What Is Your Arirang?” Fans eagerly participated in a citywide stamp rally event, adding an interactive element to the celebration.
An immersive media art exhibition was also a key attraction, showcasing dynamic visuals and music videos specifically tied to album tracks such as “Body to Body” and “Into the Sun.” This unique exhibition provided visitors with large-scale interactive visual installations, offering a deeper dive into the album’s artistic vision.
The “The City Las Vegas” campaign seamlessly fused BTS’s groundbreaking music and powerful message with the city’s impressive infrastructure and renowned cultural landmarks. This ambitious project significantly expanded the group’s signature city-linked concert initiative onto an even grander scale. Additional exciting events, including exclusive concerts, after-parties, and collaborations with various food and beverage brands, are slated to continue captivating fans through early June.

All four of the BTS Las Vegas concerts at Allegiant Stadium were completely sold out, demonstrating the immense global demand for the K-pop superstars. An astonishing crowd of over 60,000 enthusiastic fans gathered on the first concert night alone, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
During one of the unforgettable shows, world-renowned DJ Steve Aoki, who famously collaborated with BTS on the remix version of “Mic Drop,” made a surprise guest appearance, thrilling the audience. Adding to the magic, fans passionately filled the stadium with a magnificent, large-scale sing-along to the melody of the beloved Korean folk song “Arirang,” prominently featured in the track “Body to Body.”
