K-pop idol group Tomorrow X Together (TXT) has earned an additional Gold Disc certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
According to the RIAJ on the 15th, Tomorrow X Together’s (Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, Hueningkai) 8th mini-album, ‘7TH YEAR: When the wind briefly stopped in the thorny bush,’ surpassed 250,000 cumulative shipments as of April, securing a Gold Disc ‘Platinum’ certification. This latest achievement brings their total number of Gold Disc certified albums to 16.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan awards Gold Disc certifications monthly based on cumulative album shipments: Gold (over 100,000 units), Platinum (over 250,000 units), Double Platinum (over 500,000 units), Triple Platinum (over 750,000 units), and Million (over 1,000,000 units).
Tomorrow X Together now boasts a total of 16 Gold Disc certified albums. These include ‘CHIKAI’ (誓い, Vow) which achieved ‘Triple Platinum,’ ‘The Dream Chapter: TOGETHER,’ ‘Starkissed,’ ‘SWEET,’ and ‘GOOD BOY GONE BAD’ which earned ‘Double Platinum’ certifications, and ‘7TH YEAR: When the wind briefly stopped in the thorny bush,’ ‘The Dream Chapter: SANCTUARY,’ ‘The Name Chapter: FREEFALL,’ ‘The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION,’ and ‘Chaotic Wonderland’ which received ‘Platinum’ certifications.
The 8th mini-album garnered immense popularity, securing the No. 1 spot on Oricon’s ‘Weekly Combined Album Ranking,’ ‘Weekly Album Ranking,’ and ‘Weekly Western Music Album Ranking’ dated April 27. Notably, it marked their 14th time topping the ‘Weekly Combined Album Ranking,’ establishing a new tie for the most No. 1s by any Japanese or international artist in history.
On the 11th, Tomorrow X Together captivated audiences with a performance of their 8th mini-album’s title track, ‘Stick With You,’ on Japan’s prominent music show, TBS ‘CDTV Live! Live!’. The group is also set to hold their 7th-anniversary special concert, ‘2026 TXT MOA CON IN JAPAN.’ This highly anticipated tour will span eight shows across four cities, starting in Aichi on May 23-24, followed by Chiba on May 27-28, Fukuoka on June 16-17, and Hyogo on June 23-24. The Aichi performance on May 24th is confirmed for Live Viewing, broadcasting live in 53 countries and regions worldwide.
Meanwhile, Tomorrow X Together’s new album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 (dated May 2) and remained on the chart for two consecutive weeks. With this, they have now charted a total of 13 albums on the highly competitive Billboard 200.
