BTS member Jin, hailed as a ‘Visual King,’ enthralled not only his dedicated fanbase but also the broader Mexican public with his stunning visuals and ‘Siren’-like fantastical live vocals.

BTS successfully held their ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN MEXICO CITY’ on May 8th and from May 10th to 11th (KST) at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, connecting with approximately 150,000 enthusiastic concertgoers.

Renowned for his ‘fundamental beauty,’ Jin captivated the audience in Mexico with his powerful and clear ‘Silver Voice’ vocals and his sharp, enthralling performances. He delivered an exceptional show, showcasing his beautiful ‘Siren’ timbre, superb stage presence, and relentlessly passionate energy throughout the concert.

Jin created a significant buzz when he attended a traditional Mexican Lucha Libre wrestling match with his fellow members on a day off, even taking a photo with Mexican national hero, wrestler Mystico. During the concert, Mystico surprised the audience by appearing on stage wearing his white jacket emblazoned with the names of BTS, Jin, and other members. He even engaged in a fun wrestling performance with the group, much to the delight of the fans.
Mexican fans showered Jin with praise for his heartfelt message and impressive Spanish proficiency. He shared, “I am taking back so many wonderful memories of Mexico – Lucha Libre, tacos, the cheers of ARMY, and all your love. It was a truly happy time. I love you all, see you next time!” Fans expressed their genuine amazement at his fluent Spanish pronunciation.

Jin’s immense popularity in Mexico was further highlighted by the rapid sell-out of his merchandise T-shirts. The enthusiastic response for Jin extended beyond the concert venue, with hashtags like ‘MI AMOR JIN IN MEXICO’ prominently decorating real-time trends on X (formerly Twitter) in the US and various other countries worldwide.

Mexican TV news channel ‘Imagen Noticias’ demonstrated Mexico’s deep affection for Jin by prominently featuring an image of his solo tour as the thumbnail when reporting on BTS’s Mexico tour. On another occasion, ‘Imagen Noticias’ used a two-shot of Jin and wrestler Mystico as the thumbnail for news about the BTS members visiting a Lucha Libre match, with Jin appearing almost continuously throughout the broadcast. His strong topicality in Mexico was undeniable. His natural enjoyment and authentic reactions to Lucha Libre, Mexico’s national sport, garnered numerous positive comments from the Mexican public, extending far beyond just the dedicated fans.

As both a ‘Visual King’ and ‘Live King,’ Jin’s presence in Mexico generated considerable viral buzz. His impact was electrifying across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, where concert videos of Jin sparked fervent reactions from Mexican non-fans. Comments poured in, including “I’m not a fan, but I understand you,” “Not an ARMY, but I screamed,” “I’m a guy and I fell in love scrolling,” and “I’m not a fan but I’m completely hooked.” The overwhelming response even prompted the official YouTube Latin America account to comment on an Instagram video, stating, “Brother Jin. You are now Mexican,” further proving the explosive reception towards Jin in Mexico.
Beyond fans, the Mexican public and celebrities alike expressed their passionate admiration for Jin. Notably, Mexican WWE star Berto (Humberto Carrillo) posted about Jin’s presence on his Instagram, further highlighting Jin’s widespread appeal and celebrity recognition in the country.
