Global K-pop phenomenon BTS continues its impressive run as their latest album, “Arirang,” officially achieved platinum certification from a prominent French recording industry association, the group’s agency announced on Tuesday.

This significant platinum milestone for the South Korean sensation’s fifth studio album was awarded by the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing, recognizing “Arirang” for exceeding 100,000 sales units across all formats, including physical copies, digital downloads, and streaming, as confirmed by BigHit Music.

This achievement follows closely on the heels of the “Arirang” album securing a gold certification in France, a feat accomplished just six days after its release in March.

With this latest recognition, the iconic K-pop group proudly boasts four albums with platinum status in France.

Beyond France, the “Arirang” album has also achieved monumental success in Japan, where it was certified “triple platinum” in March, signifying sales of over 750,000 units.

Adding to its accolades, “Arirang” further cemented its place in history by becoming the first K-pop album ever to spend an impressive three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart.

This critically acclaimed 14-track album, featuring the captivating lead single “Swim,” represents the band’s highly anticipated return following a four-year hiatus attributed to its members’ mandatory military service. (Yonhap)
